Valentine’s Day Celebration
Our Valentine’s week celebration culminated with our first celebration in the dining room in many months. The dining team prepared several specials for the occasion. Red tablecloths punctuated the event and made a most dramatic effect. Pink pampas grass in vases with roses and chocolates set the tables for the night. It was exciting, despite still seating two to a table. Prime Rib was the favorite of the night. Everyone had a wonderful time, we even had a few members get up and dance!
Annual Sweetheart Run
Brightwater’s 4th Annual Sweetheart Run occurred on Saturday, February 13. The weather this year was not kind with temperatures in the 30s, biting wind, and steady rain. But that didn’t stop our participants and those who came to cheer them on! Members, staff, families, adults/children, 4-legged friends, and local area runners all showed up to help raise money for the American Heart Association! The event was kicked off by our Aimee Simmons who sung the National Anthem. We had a special guest – Ms. South Carolina who participated in our 1-mile run. Our 101-year-old Member who up until this year walked our 1-mile was our honorary ‘pacesetter golf cart’ for the run. Throughout the race Members and staff volunteered for registration, timing, water carts, and other duties. While our Executive Director, Michael Fink, and Human Resources Director, Suzanne Toole showed what they were made of! Stephen Craig provided music throughout the day and had us dancing between races.
Reflections Valentine’s Day
Members in Reflections, our Memory Care neighborhood are always up to something fun! In the last week, they have enjoyed celebrating Valentine’s Day and Mardi Gras with crafting, creating (and eating!) delicious cookies, wearing festive hats, dancing, receiving gifts, getting glammed up, and more! Vaccines
At the beginning of February, our Members received their 2nd dose of the COVID-19 Vaccination! We are so grateful to the team at CVS Health for working for their hard work and ensuring that our Members and staff are vaccinated! Onward!
Pet Day
Each year we love to recognize our furry friends and their parents! This year was no different! Our Social Director Debbie and her Mini Springer Doodle, Sassee delivered treat bags to all of the pets at Brightwater! Cats and dogs alike were recipients of these little snack packs complete with a toy and treats! For the pet parents, we delivered key tags and ID cards. The key tag goes on a key ring in case of emergency to notify personnel that there are pets at home that will need to be cared for! It was such a fun day and the sun cooperated as we walked around the community.
