Business Manager Takes Home Highest Honor

The Supernova Award is the highest individual honor that our company gives and each year. One individual on the leadership team at Brightwater is voted by their colleagues as the community’s Supernova based on an assortment of criteria. Each year during the Senior Living Communities Annual Meeting, the winner is revealed and given a customized crystal award at the company’s formal Supernova Awards Evening. The criteria for voting is based on upholding our company’s mission to be caring professionals dedicated to quality services. Additionally, this individual will consistently deliver excellent customer service (to Members, families, and colleagues), lead positively with integrity, take accountability, put the team before themselves, and embody the company’s vision to create communities where people live longer, healthier, and happier lives.

This year, we are proud to congratulate our Business Manager, Jamaisha Gore as the recipient of the 2022 Brightwater Supernova Award. This honor was bestowed at the Senior Living Communities Annual Meeting on Thursday, July 28th at The Omni Grove Park Inn, in Asheville, North Carolina. As the Business Manager, Jamaisha is the principal point of contact regarding all business matters. This position is also the principal point of contact with the Maxwell Group regarding all the administrative business aspects of the community which includes accounting,budgeting, financial reporting, and accounting support.

After graduating from college, Jamaisha joined the company as a Concierge/Scheduler. She’s gained a vast array of knowledge throughout the community by working in different roles including Medical Records and Admissions, Care Services Lifestyle Advisor, Client Services Manager for our in-house home health company, Live Long Well Care, and now as the community’s Business Manager. In her free time, she enjoys going to the beach and spending time with her two beautiful daughters.

Congratulations on being chosen as a Supernova! How do you feel?

I am extremely humbled and excited about receiving this award. I am so thankful to be a part of an awesome team, serving the best Members!

What’s your favorite part about your position?

I enjoy many aspects of my job. What I love most is the smiles and satisfaction on the faces of our team members, and families when they are experiencing a challenge and I am able to listen and help them find a solution.

What do you want people to know about working in a retirement community?

Working in this environment can be very rewarding for anyone. Even if you’re not background is not in healthcare, you can make a big impact. It is a great opportunity to gain real wisdom by listening to our Members’ amazing stories.

What is your favorite thing about working for Senior Living Communities?

My favorite thing about this position at Senior Living Communities is the people I work with from Home Office to frontline. Everyone is very positive and supportive. It truly is a Great Place to Work!

What’s a quote or inspirational words that influence/impact you and why?

“I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” – Maya Angelou. I have always been passionate about helping and pouring into others. Knowing that I have empowered or given someone a gift is a great feeling.
