Top 4 Social Events of 2020

1. Painting with a Twist

Two to three times each year we invite Painting with a Twist to Brightwater to help us work on painting masterpieces while we sip wine! To ensure that our Members were able to safely participate, Painting with a Twist put together kits so that our Members could participate in the convenience of their homes. They were delivered with all the necessary supplies and their favorite bottle of wine.

2. Elvis / Vintage Vegas

In January 2020, our Members celebrated the city of Las Vegas as a part of our Signature Experience! The day began with a Wellness event called “Roll the Dice” where attendees rolled extra-large dice to determine what exercise and how many movements they would have to do in the workout. Members swore that the Wellness team had loaded dice as they were having them do the most number of reps possible! The Aces Casino Company came from Wilmington, North Carolina and turned the Brightwater clubhouse into a working casino complete with all of our favorite games – Texas Hold ‘Em, Craps, Roulette and our favorite, Blackjack! We had a great crowd tossing around thousands of dollars in “funny money”! Everyone had chances to win with raffle tickets for every $5,000 they cashed in. Winners received gift cards from $15 to $50 at various local eateries. At 2pm, Elvis was in the house! Jeff Keener with Keener Entertainment joined us on our stage in the Palmetto Room, where the decor brought together the feeling of a live Las Vegas Show! He worked the room, making everyone swoon and afterward handed out autographed photos. He sang a lot of Elvis favorites and even the gospel tunes got rave reviews. It’s always so much fun when he’s in the house! Dinner was well attended with our Vegas Buffet Menu and after dinner we showed the movie “Viva Las Vegas”. It was a long day celebrating the neon lights of Sin City!

3. ALZ Golf Tournament

In October 2020, we hosted our Annual Golf Tournament to raise money for The Alzheimer’s Association. The Dye Club at Barefoot Resort hosted the event and was one of our incredible sponsors for the day. The tournament raised over $10,000 in donations for the Alzheimer’s Association. This event included an assortment of raffles, hole sponsorships, and several levels of business sponsors. The weather cooperated with cooler temperatures and some clouds until the last hole was played. Northern Bites Cafe, a local café provided lunches for all the golfers. Due to the pandemic, the tournament looked a bit different this year as we could not have an awards banquet. However, everyone had great fun in spite of the changes made to the day and Brightwater was proud to raise money for this organization that is so near and dear to our Members and Staff.

4. Mother’s Day Parade

On Mother’s Day 2020 we hosted a beautiful parade welcoming 36 cars of families and friends who wanted to send love to their matriarch on Mother’s Day! Those who were a part of the parade went above and beyond to decorate their vehicles with streamers, balloons, custom signs and more! WMBF Anchor, Eric Weisfeld and Account Exec, Ken Baker, were the “Grand Marshals” in the lead golf cart. They weaved through our campus spreading joy and love to everyone along the path! It was such a fun event and meant so much to everyone who participated.

Check out the wonderful segment that our friends at WMBF News did of our parade here.
